Greenville has a diverse number of communities that offer the lifestyle that it's many residents desire. Close to downtown is the CU-ICAR (Clemson University – International Center for Automotive Research) which is becoming a focal point for new development and neighborhoods. Just north of Downtown Greenville is Paris Mountain. Home sites tend to be large estates and steep mountainside living. It also has easy access to Furman University, Cherrydale Shopping center and the City of Travelers Rest.

The City of Travelers Rest is the gateway to the mountains. Currently it is a growing community 20 minutes north of downtown Greenville. The City of Travelers Rest is close to Furman University and on Hwy 276 which takes you to the Blue Wall of the mountains and Caesars Head state park. It is also the closest city and shopping to the Cliffs Communities farther north up Highway 25.

City of Greer is a rapidly growing city east of Greenville. The Greenville and Spartanburg county line runs through the center of town. Revitalization of downtown is underway. Greer forms the eastern side of the ‘Eastside’ communities. Greer’s Lake Robinson has seen a lot of development for residential construction. Greer is a popular place to live for employees of BMW, which is only few miles to the south on I-85.

The Eastside area is between Greenville and Greer. The name is given to the area east of Greenville but west of the city of Greer. The lines for the “Eastside” are mostly defined by Pelham Road, Old Spartanburg, Highway 14 and I-85. Some of the best high schools in the state…Riverside and Eastside, as well as the feeder school to them…Buena Vista ES, Pelham Rd ES, Riverside MS. The popular subdivisions of Thornblade Country Club and Sugar Creek are in this area. Michelin North American HQ is nearby and it is less than 10 minutes to Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (GSP). There are new hospitals at Patewood …Greenville Hospital System and St. Francis Hospital and excellent access to I-385 at Pelham Rd. The Parkway runs along Michelin NA, the Marriot and provides upscale shopping for Thornblade and the Eastside communities.

The City of Simpsonville is located in the southern portion of Greenville County and is connected to Greenville by I-385. It has had a high growth rate over the past 15 years with extensive infrastructure in place. Heritage Park is a new park and baseball complex used for festivals for residents. A popular area with an easy commute into downtown Greenville, quick access to I-85 and is one hour to Columbia to the south. Simpsonville addresses cover subdivisions in the Five Forks area of Woodruff Road, including Kilgore Farms and Cobblestone.

The Woodruff Road area is a rapidly developing area south of Greenville City. Known for its extensive shopping areas and perhaps the busiest traffic in the area. Five Forks shopping area is about 4 miles south of I-385 and features some of the most affluent communities in the area.
